When

The second Tuesday of the month, from 2.30 to 4.30pm.
Where

We meet in members' homes.

KnittingWe are a friendly group and mainly focus on knitting, crochet, tapestry, patchwork and other sewing. We share helpful tips and chat about many other things as we work. And we always enjoy having tea and biscuits during our session. In addition to our individual projects, we learn new skills and collaborate as a group.

New members are always welcome, so do come along and see if our relaxed and informal arrangements will suit you.

Large blanketAs well as continuing our own work, we sometimes have a joint project and recently we completed a blanket of knitted squares which we gave to Project Linus, a charity which supplies blankets to premature babies and children in hospital.

Open Day StallEvery year we make items to sell at our table at the Islington U3A Open Day, and this year we raised £290 which we gave to the local charity, Islington Giving. We have supported Islington Age UK by making bunting and small items for their parties.

CrackersWe also go on outings, for instance to the Knitting and Stitching Show twice a year, and visit exhibitions — in November we will be going to the Fashion and Textile Museum. One of our members makes professional crackers and hosts a special December meeting when, under her guidance, we make our own crackers for Christmas!
