With cinemas closed, the Current Film group
has been on hold. Now, encouraged by the success of the
Classic Film group and missing the Current Film group’s
regular cinema visits, we’ve come up with the idea of
Current Films, "Reimagined". The plan is for the group to
get together by Zoom to discuss a film that we’ve viewed
beforehand at home.
Our first film is The Dig, directed by Simon Stone and starring Carey Mulligan and Ralph Fiennes, about the excavation of Sutton Hoo, which is available on Netflix. The Zoom discussion will be at 4.00pm on Thursday 18 February. For the future we’ll also choose films available on iPlayer, Amazon Prime, BFI player, and YouTube.
To enjoy current releases in this new way use the email link above to join the membership list for Current Films, Reimagined or do it directly through Beacon.
We very much hope to welcome you to this new venture.
